Risk Reduction

Risks to the Technician are greatly reduced  when the Landing Gear is left in the Aircraft while performing Maintenance. Risks to the Technician can include but are not limited to:


  • Injuries if the Aircraft is accidentally tipped or falls off Jacks while the Technician is performing maintenance;


  • Head injuries while working under the aircraft.


Risks to the Aircraft include but are not limited to:


  • Damage to the Aircraft while on Jacks, i.e. Jack slipping off the Jack Point and damaging the underside of the wing;


  • Repeated removal and installation of the Main Landing Gear Strut(s) increases the risk for damage to the wing spar,  inner wing area and Main Struts themselves.


By installing the Access Panel Kit, these risks are all greatly reduced by limiting the amount of time the Aircraft is on jacks while the Technician is resealing the Main Landing gear Strut(s).
