M2 is a CFR Part 21 FAA Approved Parts Manufacturer
M2 Aviation Solutions was started by an idea I had several years ago when I was removing the Main Landing Gear struts out of a Piper PA 28-181 to replace the upper O-ring on the top of the strut. I thought, "if this servicing hole was just a little bit larger, I wouldn't have to remove the entire strut to replace this O-ring". The initial concept involved many factors such as, maintaining wing structural integrity, lowering the risks involved with removal of the Landing Gear, Cost Savings for the Owner and Ease of Maintenance for the Technician. Having removed several of these struts for "reseal", I knew there had to be a better way!!
After the initial concept, design, drawings, fabrication, numerous meetings with the FAA and a lot of manual writing, we received our STC approval on November 2017 and our PMA Approval in February 2018.
I started my Aviation Career in the U.S. Navy as a Structural Mechanic working on the McDonnell Douglas A-4 Skyhawk in 1987. I'm a certificated A&P Mechanic, posses an IA and have a Student Pilot Certificate. My wife Michelle has the Aviation bug as well and works as a Senior Account Manager for a local Aviation Company. Our main hobby is exploring the West in our Jeep along with our friends. We currently live in Arizona, have one son, Derek and two Great Danes.
Our aim is that this STC will reduce corrosion related occurrences, reduce costs for the aircraft owner, save the technician significant time and reduce the risks associated with removal and installation of the Main Landing Gear Struts.
